About Frank Moravcik
Frank Moravcik has been playing professionally since the age of 16 with popular groups like Joe Beno Orchestra, and America's Polka King, Frank Yankovic.
While growing up in Cleveland, Ohio, he was influenced by the music of Jerry Bukac, Johnny Vadnal, and Johnny Pecon. Frank Yankovic, however, was his strongest source of inspiration and Slovenian-style polka became the trademark of Moravcik Band.
The Frank Moravcik Band has been around since 1995, popular for its own brand of Cleveland-Style polka music. Their repertoire includes Polish, Czech, and Slovak polka tunes, along with standards, country and rock. They appear to be one of the best active dance bands - for their tempo and variety.Awards and recognitions:
- Musician of the Year from the Collinwood Slovenian Home in Cleveland, Ohio
- In 1997, the band was voted Best New/Young Band form the National Cleveland-Style Polka Hall of Fame
- In 2002, the band was nominated for Band of the Year
- In 2003, they received four nominations: Band of the Year; Album of the Year; Frank for Musician of the Year; and Dan Peters (second accordionist) for Sideman of the Year
Frank also hosts a popular polka-radio show, The Czech-American Polka Show, which can be heard every Saturday on WERE 1300 AM from Cleveland, Ohio.

ReplyDeletehey daria,
ReplyDeletehow far is it to spring hill from clearwater beach? how long is the drive?
mike
Hi Michael,
ReplyDeleteThe map says 45 miles and about 1 hour and 27 minutes (traveling north on US 19).
A longer but faster way to get to the SNPJ hall is to take the Veterans Exwy/State Hwy 589 N ramp: 54.6 mi – about 1 hour 9 mins
I hope that helps. :)
